The Turkish historical heritage in the southern side of Cyprus Island has been left to ruins due to the negligence of the Greek Cypriot Administration.

Sixteen mosques out of the 102 located on the Greek side of island have been totally ruined while 61 mosques remain in a state of neglect, according to a Turkish Cypriot President’s Office survey.

The Turkish graveyards in the Greek side of the island are in a state of worse condition.

Nearly all the graveyards have been neglected, the same survey states.

Some of the graveyards have been converted for agricultural use, while highways have been intentionally built over other graveyards, the report charges.

Greek Cypriot Museum Directorate Chairman Dr. Maria Hadjicostas said that they have restored a total of 17 historical artifacts belonging to the Turkish heritage.

The island has been divided into ethnic lines since 1974.

My answer is via the following pictures depicting “how the turks have taken good care of the Greek-Cypriot cemeteries” during and after their military invasion in the Republic of Cyprus in July 1974. No further comments.

The Greek motto above says: “I DO NOT FORGET”.
