Super-cheap cruiseline easyCruise is adding dates and cabins to its 2007 inaugural Greek itinerary. This line features rock-bottom prices and flexible scheduling and overall, it’s a whole new way to visit Greece.

The Greece cruise season will start two weeks earlier than previously announced, on May 18th, and will last all the way into November. The easyCruises’ flagship, the easyCruiseOne will be on the inaugural journeys.

I announced earlier this season that the cruise price would be about $60 per person for a three-night cruise, but hey, prices have since dropped. One special offers a “weekend break” offering two nights for two people for about $70; a week-long trip will run about $130. That’s not per night, it’s for the whole trip.

There are lots of itineraries to check out, but stops on the full 14-day version of the cruise include Athens, Mykonos, Paros, Ios, Milos, Amorgos, Naxos, Folegandros, Sifnos and Serifos, a great combination of well-known tourist stops and remote Greek islands.

They’ve even added an Apivita spa experience to the ship, featuring Minoan-style honey-based Greek beauty products.

Is this Greek cruise for you? The ship and cabins are small, the ambiance young and noisy, and you pay for the food you eat on board. But if you’ve ever considered a hostel for the land-based portion of your trip to Greece, this might be the cruise-line equivalent and then some.
