The third annual San Francisco Greek Film Festival opened on Monday 5th June with the 2005 comedy, “Woman Is … A Tough Person” directed by and starring Antonis Kafetzopoulos.

The film details an extremely trying day in the life of a stressed-out ad executive. A reception followed the film, with both events taking place at the Delancey Street Screening Room, 600 Embarcadero.

The week-long festival is a showcase of contemporary Greek feature films and shorts, but also includes an American-made documentary, “The 11th Day” about the civilian resistance movement on Crete during World War II. That film will be showed Saturday on a double bill with “Hostage” a drama by Constantine Giannaris.

The festival is sponsored by the Modern Greek Studies Foundation, the Center for Modern Greek Studies, the Nikos Kazantzakis Chair at San Francisco State University and the Athens Film Center.
