Mega Channel and Alpha TV, two of the largest TV channels in Greece have found a reliable upgrade that’s a flexible, cost-effective answer for transitioning to an automated playlist, the 360 Systems Image Server 2000.

Both stations needed the capability to playback local content through an automated system at an affordable price point with industry-proven reliability. This was the first move in the station’s roadmap to migration from tape to server-based technology.

Bon Studio, the integrator/installer, chose the 360 Image Server because of its combination of reliability, versatility and attractive pricing.

“Our client, MEGA Channel, uses the Image Server 2000 PAL-formatted unit with a Graphical User Interface as a play-to-air server for advertising content,” explained George Kazelidis, Managing Director of Bon Studio, Greece. “Alpha TV finds the Image Server’s flexibility ideal for a number of applications. They use its playlisting program to air ads, trailers and handle continuity.”

360 Systems’ Image Server is becoming increasingly popular worldwide as an affordable solution that enhances efficiency across the entire broadcast workflow. Other European customers include Vital TV and Echo TV in Hungary who developed a scheduling application that’s customized and optimized for their three Image Servers.

360 Systems’ Image Server 2000 is a new generation of video server that offers broadcast quality and reliability at a reasonable price. Its extensive feature set makes it an excellent choice for VTR replacement, satellite ingest, and as play-to-air servers.
