This June, the Spartans will try to give the pirates nothing but take from them everything.

The Greek war epic “300” and the swashbuckling “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest” will be vying for top honors at the 2007 MTV Movie Awards this summer.

With five and four nominations, respectively, they’ll compete in the best movie category against each other and “Blades of Glory,” “Little Miss Sunshine” and “Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan.”

“300” also garnered nods for the six-pack bearing Gerard Butler for best performance, Butler versus the Uber Immortal for best fight, Lena Headey for breakthrough performance and Rodrigo Santoro for best villain. Giving Butler a run for his money are Johnny Depp and Keira Knightley for their performances in “Pirates,” while Bill Nighy got a nod for best villain.

As usual, the MTV movie awards will have a couple unconventional categories, including best kiss and best summer movie yet to be released. The awards ceremony will air live on Sunday, June 3 with the irreverent Sarah Silverman as host.
