St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 1101 River Road, Piscataway, announces its 34th Annual Greek Festival, taking place May 18 – 20, 2007. Hours of operation are Friday, 11 AM – 11:30 PM; Saturday, 11AM – 1:00 AM, and Sunday, 12 – 8 PM.

The 34th Anniversary of this Festival commemorates the longest continuously-running Greek Orthodox Church Festival in the state of New Jersey. This annual three-day-event attracts thousands of people each year for homemade Greek food, live music by the Golden Greeks II Express, live traditional Greek Folk Dancing by the Church’s four dance groups, as well as Church tours and cultural information.

New for 2007: In addition to its regular amenities, the 2007 Festival will also offer a Taverna Night on Saturday, with the outdoor bar, souvlaki and gyro stands remaining open until 1:00 AM. There will also be music. The Taverna Night will have a $7 admission fee beginning at 10 pm, come early to avoid paying this fee!

As in past years, the 2006 festival attracted over 10,000 people. We encourage the public to join us again for the 2007 Festival and celebrate three days of being Greek. Greek food, pastries, wine, ouzo, gyro, souvlakia, ethnic folk dancing, live music and singers, will be a few of the amenities one will be able to enjoy in our air conditioned community center. We will also have an outdoor Taverna, Take-Out Booth, Bakery, and Gift Shops on our premises. Master Card and Discover Card accepted. Free parking and shuttle service is available at the Church and Rutgers Stadium. Patrons wishing to order their food for take out by email may do so by sending their orders to: Festival2007@patmedia.net. Please include a contact name and phone number with your order and allow 20 minutes for pick up.

Proceeds from the 34th Annual Greek Festival will assist the Church in continuing it’s cultural and community programming. Young and old alike are anxious to extend our famous Greek hospitality and make it a time to be remembered. We look forward to seeing everyone on May 18th, 19th and 20th.
