Fourth annual San Francisco Greek Film Festival May 13, 2007

Welcome to the Fourth annual San Francisco Greek Film Festival. The 2007 festival edition offers a gateway to the rich, complex culture of contemporary Greece through its lively and passionate cinema.

An opening-night reception will take place on Saturday, May 12, immediately following the feature films at Delancey Street. Tickets to the opening night film and reception start at $60. Sponsorship opportunities for the Film Festival are available with various recognition incentives at different levels.

Individual tickets cost $15 and can be purchased ahead of time through the Festival’s website, www.grfilm.com. Tickets will be available at the door on the day of the event but will be subject to availability. The San Francisco Greek Festival will run Saturday, May 12, through Friday, May 18, 2007, at the Delancey Street Screening Room. The Film Festival is being sponsored by the Modern Greek Studies Foundation, the Center for Modern Greek Studies, the Nikos Kazantzakis Chair at San Francisco State University, Greek Film Center and Graal Productions of Greece for the short films.

The Festival is part of an international tour, which includes Germany, Cleveland, Canada and Serbia. It will showcase seven contemporary Greek feature films and several Greek short films, one feature and one short film will be shown each night, which have received acclaim in Greece and throughout the world.  The films are from veteran and up-and-coming producers and directors, and explore various topics in modern-day life in different regions of Greece.
