Greece’s Fourlis to open IKEA shop in Bulgaria November 7, 2007

IKEA may open its first shop in Bulgaria in 2009.

Greece’s Fourlis Group negotiated a terrain in Sofia, where the hypermarket would be built in the near future according to local press media.

Fourlis planned to open two new IKEA hypermarkets in Greece by 2010, after the successful opening of the first IKEA shop last september in Nicosia, Cyprus. In mid-2007, Fourlis also announced that it planned to enter the Serbian market. The company opened its first hypermarket in Romania in the beginning of the year.

Fourlis Group, for the IKEA plan, is forecasting consolidated sales worth 600 million euro and profits of 50 million euro for 2007.
